The Tiny String Remaining
It's been a week in Seattle now. My original plans had me flying home yesterday but I'm here now until tomorrow. I didn't do any yoga. I'm a loser. I probably could have found time to do yoga but it would have been on my own and yada yada a big list of excuses. Someday soon I'm gonna run out of them.
I almost think we can accurately say I don't do yoga anymore. At least, not asana.
I must change this.

Hi Julie - I've been in the exact same boat lately. Time to get back to the mat!

And I too have been in that boat. So many many excuses.

can't say the same, but I'm sure all of you will find your way back. Sometimes Life is a bumpy road and its all we can do to stay on course.
Don't be angry for what you haven't done, appreciate what you have done. From what I've learned from the Yoginis in my life, its all about acceptance and being in the moment.
Life is now.

This is a crowded boat we're all on. Its the time of year. I always just "let it go" around now. All I want to do these days is curl up with a nice big glass of cabernet and watch movies. The yoga will always be there.
I took all last week off. YAY me!!! =(

Hey there..
I don't know what exactly you're looking for. If not doing Asanas makes you feel guilty, you don't have get worried. There are several other important things to do in life besides how to standup perfectly from Urdhva Dhanurasana or from Kapotasana. Asana obsession serves as an anti-thesis to Yoga and its just 1 limb of Yoga. If your goal is just to master the asanas then obviously you need to prioritze. If your goal is to attain Yoga just doing Asanas may not be enough and could even be a deterrent ! Note that its not wrong to do asanas for good health or peace of mind. Real Yoga is explained by God in Bhagavad Gita. If Yoga were to attained by Asanas alone Gymnasts would have attained Mukti by now :). Hope this post makes you feel better.
Best...

Hi VC, long time no see... yes, that is why I said "at least asana" -- actually lately I've been finding myself doing a lot of kirtan (by myself) and practicing a lot more of the other limbs... but, for me, the act of asana brings a centeredness I don't get elsewhere and it is important to my life and my yoga practice.
just one limb...
e -- That is EXACTLY how I feel...
the couch is awfully crowded... :)
