Baby Oh Baby The Places You'll Go

I remember when The Son still lived within the confines of my very human body, we used to read this book to him every night. Literally... face to belly, The Husband reading to my belly.

It's been a little bit with no practice and little time. Meeting after meeting, after hotel... some wine tasting thrown in there... more meetings... but I did get to have lunch at The Inn of the Seventh Ray (google it, too tired to link) which I've always wanted to try. On the menu they had a Truffled Lobster Grilled Cheese sandwich. It sounded like heaven... only they were out of it so I had lentil flat bread instead.

I did get to see Jenna (also too lazy to link... but we all know Jenna). Her new house is amazingly beautiful... I'm in love with The Meatlocker. I keep thinking of how HUGE a library you could make in there... I did, of course, actually bring my yoga mat into the house.. but it never made it past the chair. After driving 6 hours, I was ambivalent about practicing but totally could have... Jenna poured wine, brought out cheese and she sure didn't have to twist my arm. Then we ordered Thai food and got to walk in the rain to pick it up with Jenna in her new and cute little red coat she got in the children's department at Target.

I also got to taste some good wines. I'm afraid Jenna is going to disown me but.. I had a bottle of the Opolo and it was one of my favorites of the day. Really. I feel so ashamed.

I am still in love with my MacBook Pro. It's hard to believe but it is true. I love it. I love the keyboard and the feel of it. It runs Vista really well. I did the dual boot with BootCamp because Parallels using virtual imaging to run Vista and I really don't want that so I just split the drive and dual boot into whichever O/S I want. I don't use MacOSX much and probably never will (to be honest, I just use it for that little picture thing..that's pretty cool) so it boots into Vista unless I tell it otherwise. It's hot... I love it.

Practice tomorrow barring some massively horrible catastrophe at work (and I'm not saying that isn't possible, it's been a tough week). It's all good though... the choochoo is starting.

"Inn of the Seventh Ray" is one of my most favorites to go to when I am in the area! I really miss "Angelite Om" too...what a cool little shop that was!

uggh, i'm jealous. i'm going thru new vista computer and wireless network set up hell right now. and i haven't even gotten to the boy's "why doesn't my xbox live work" dilemma yet.

sometimes i just want to beat those mindless, script reading, pseudonym using customer support twits about their head and shoulders.

well, at least there's restore points.

but, so far, with what little up time i've had, i don't like vista at all. everything is hidden. where's the files i downloaded? why won't those games play? how do i search now? where's the friggin run box?

ok, my bad, your blog. it just takes all the fun out of getting a brand new machine. can't wait until i actually set up the network encryption.

I won't disown you. Good thing you went and didn't listen to me, otherwise you would have missed out on your favorite wine, right? :)

Oh and yes, two bottles for Timiji. Did you give them to him yet?

Come visit again soon. Next time we'll practice. (riiiight.)

I didn't go to Opolo... we left when you did.. but they had a few bottles of it at dinner....

I gave them to Timji today at practice... I told him The Ditch Digger was probably appropriately named for him.

OKRGR - you just have to be smarter than the 1s and 0s. Sounds like something is funky to me... is this a new computer with Vista preinstalled? Do you need some help ;) ?

yes, new, standard out of the box middle of the road HP Vista POS from Circuit City.

finally got the new drivers for the network in the system and running. managed to get the pre-packaged trial version of norton re-installed (it somehow got gooned in the process of my crashes trying to get the network drivers loaded and reloaded. have to give that recovery manager credit there. am now able to keep explore from shutting down anytime i open a comments section in blogger (though i don't know how--went away after i reloaded norton).

my only known remaining major fuck up is the intermittent freezing of my computer. i though it was from when i originally downloaded the wireless adapter drivers, since the first episode of freezing occured whilst in mid extraction. but, i've replaced those files a couple of times and the wireless stuff seems stable. can't yet figure out what triggers the screen/systemm freeze. it may be a duration of operation thing.

i'll work on it for a while. i still have that demon xbox live to deal with soon

Dude, your computer is messed up! I loaded up Vista and have never had a single problem on my MacBook and on my Dell. The xBox live is just a matter of a code, no?

""The xBox live is just a matter of a code, no?""

we live in parallel but seperate universes, in which that phrase has meaning in one, but not in the other. it's a friggin code alright. one the xbox service reps aren't privy to anyway. more network access crapola.

thought the PC crashes were fading out, until i started trying to download the code for the beta version of a game. crashes just s few minutes into the down load.

wipe the disk and start over? or trundle it all back to circuit city and throw a big fit until they give me a new one?

my problems haven't revolved around loading vista. it came loaded. my problems have been about loading other things onto my vista 'enabled' POS.

if it were me, I would bitch and moan and get a Dell but not sure you can do that. this sounds like a compatibility issue with the computer itself.

i would have gotten a dell, but their estimated shipping date was like 10-25. we will still need another machine soon, so i'll probably splurge a bit and get an alienware
