Bliss

I've been really considering the word bliss lately. I always feel way up in the sky after doing second series. I can a definitive difference on the days that I don't do any of second. I spend good portions of the day just noticing that I'm, well, noticing. It's like a constant high and I mean that in the sense of those times when you took some drug with the hopes of expanding your consciousness. Wild! Is this this nerve thing? It's almost so subtle you don't notice it but it's pretty cool.

Wrong sage, vishwamitra not vashista, it is different in ashtanga.

I can't speak for the nerve cleansing aspect, but I know that deep back bending can be incredibly stimulating for the brain and body, and you're ending at Kapo now, so it makes sense that you feel amped up. It is suprising to me though that the closing series, with its deep forward bends, wouldn't take it down somewhat.

If you start to feel ungrounded or just a little too spacey, spend more time in the headstand in finishing, theres a reason second series ends with 7 headstands. Its also why guruji always does that walk to the bathroom during the led second series classes.

ah "bliss" such a funny word I like the quote "ignorance is bliss"

Ah maybe that is part of it... you see headstand is still difficult for me as it impacts the surgical area greatly... that and Bhekasana are the two poses which still cause me the greatest difficulty. I can't hold headstand as long as I used to and some days, if I'm sore, I only hold it 10-15 breaths.
