To Chop It Off?

The other night The Husband & I were talking and he was telling me how happy he is to be married to me... he listed a bunch of things that he loves about me and one of those things was "I love that you cut your hair off every couple of years...that you aren't static, that you don't have the same haircut from high school [cause a lot of the moms around here do]." So, of course, that got me thinking...two years is coming up here.

The last time I cut my hair, I cut it super short..think like 1" on the top! It has been growing out ever since and it's now pretty long... You can see pictures of what it is like now on my family website. I don't have many pictures of it really short at least not accessible but here is what it looked like as it grew out through my pregnancy and then The Daughter's birth....

So, now I'm debating..chop it off...leave it long..chop it off...leave it long.

it doesn't matter what I think - which look do you like? I had waist-length hair until about three years ago when I chopped it all off and its been short ever since. Personally I like hair that is either long enough to braid or short enough that it doesn't get in the way. Yours looks lovely in all of the pictures. Now that wasn't very helpful, was it? ;P

Hmmmm..... I've had very short hair for years and years - since we were married. then about 18 months ago i decided to grow it out because I couldn't stand the same cut anymore.....and now, as you can guess, think about chopping it all off again. What was that about always wanting what we don't have? But I essentially agree with Laura - it *has* to be out of the way and sufficiently low maintenance to not need any particular attention. I think your hair looks lovely both ways - the only thing I would avoid is flicky stuff that gets in your face, because it drives me INSANE and needs more styling than I have the ability or desire to deal with.

Virgo-ola! Even your home looks like my Virgo sister's! I like that your husband likes that you're not static. It looks like your hair grows fast. If mine did, I'd chop it off more often. I agree that you look lovely either way. (MUCH better than a suburban trophy person!)

I agree with Laura and gen...I have mine always long enough to put in a ponytail or two braids. I *love* the way I look with a short bob (chin length) but I haven't cut it that length since having children since I really need to shower and wash it everyday for it to look good.
And since I'm showering only a few times a week at this point (eeew) it's just not going to happen for me.
Short enough to just have to run your fingers through it for styling would be great though!

Well, I'm in the same boat, and I have decided to chop it all off next time (at least I *think* I've decided, lol). I'm ready for a change. I know it will grow out if I don't like it, but my only hesitancy is that I tend to like my hair either long or really short - and I get impatient with that in-between growing out stage.

Geez, I'm no help, am I?

Hmmm. I really have a thing for long hair - on men or women. Well - you asked :-). My hair is very long and all one length. It is exceptionally easy to take care of. I just wash and wear it. Throw it in a pony tail if it is in the way. I love the ease of it. It seems that all my friends with short styles spend far longer on their hair than I do. Okay - that said - I am very, very low maintenance. I don't wear makeup and I don't do my hair. :P I barely find enough time in the day to get other things done. Makeup and hair seem very frivolous - lol. Of course, I live where many people don't "do" themselves up before going to the grocery store. My cousin who lives in Texas would not be caught dead w/o her hair and makeup done. So - just for ease of care - and the fact that it looks exceptionally pretty on you - I vote for long :-).

My hair doesn't grow long, it grows out and crazy. Short for me.

I met you while you had short hair. It was awesome, stylish and matched your personality, IMO.

I feel lighter and freer when I get mine cut.

I really like what he said about not being static...and now the song hairstyles and attitudes is running through my head...my question for you is do you feel that your hair reflects inner change or your receptivity to change?

I'm no help otherwise, my hair is the longest its ever been and having long hair is such a change for me I'm revelling in how I can wear it a different way each day if I choose...ponytail, braids, knot, down :-)
