Waldorf on Ebay

Wow, I didn't realize that the description Waldorf has become a major marketing term. I was just checking out Ebay and did a search on Waldorf. I'm a little bored NAK and remembered Dirt mentioning Waldorf on Ebay... I was flabbergasted to see that IKEA wooden products are being sold under the guise of WALDORF TOY LOOK HERE. It appears the term Waldorf now encompasses anything wooden?

I think with the Ikea stuff its in the hopes people don't realize they're bidding 12.00 for a 2.00 mass produced set of child sized wooden spoons. ANY thing wooden or fairy oriented gets labelled waldorf I've noticed - I think its because of how genuinely inflated the price of waldorf toys are. We made Arrow BEAUTIFUL pine playstands for her birthday. Cost? 40.00 cdn. Time? 2 hours. There's no way the price tag on them in the stores reflects the workmanship and materials - it reflects what the market will bear and looking at waldorf school tuitions? Thats their market - upper middle class families, and families that feel they can't compromise on the quality of their children's playthings. I can't imagine spending what amounts to a months rent on playstands!
